Free Nonsense

"I know that INESC Porto offers great competencies and facilities in OFS; this means that we can develop the best sensor configurations and interrogation techniques for the sensing platforms...", Mohammad Zibaii

Have your say

"The relaxed atmosphere, spirit of mutual aid and the exchange of scientific knowledge between colleagues at INESC Porto are all positive factors for me, but it was the projects I have been involved in that have really contributed to my scientific development...", Lucian Ciobanu

Gallery of the Uncommon

Following the analysis of the aesthetics of breasts, the researchers at INESC Porto have turned their attention to the pelvic region. The project is called BioPelvic and consists of a vaginometer which is not to be confused with any other mileage meter. This is a phallic device with sensors and yes ladies, there is a wireless version.

LIAAD organises 10th edition of the International Symposium on Intelligent Data Analysis

The Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) is organising the International Symposium on Intelligent Data Analysis (IDA2011) which will take place in Porto from 29th to 31st October. The leading topics include intelligent data analysis, intelligent support for modelling and analysing complex, dynamical systems.

The 10th edition of the IDA will focus on modelling and analysing complex dynamical systems such as economic systems, gene regulatory networks, social networks, systems of natural resources and cognitive systems.

The Symposium is looking for "first look" papers that might be considered preliminary elsewhere but contain potentially high impact research. The IDA Symposium is open to all kinds of modelling and analysis methods, irrespective of discipline.

In accordance with the 2011 IDA's new theme, the IDA Frontier Prize, worth 1000 Euros, will be awarded to the most visionary contribution. Submissions considered for this award must present novel and original approaches to data analysis and the understanding of complex systems.

The closing date for articles is 14th May and they can be submitted here.
