€7.8M European project in the energy field comes to an end
INESC TEC, represented by its Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), has been participating since September 2013 in project evolvDSO - Development of Methodologies and Tools for New and Evolving DSO Roles for Efficient DRES Integration in Distribution Networks. Portuguese researchers discover substructures in the brain that are relevant for surgical procedures
A team led by Portuguese researchers developed neurocomputing methods that made it possible to identify brain substructures with different connectivity profiles which affect the motor and non-motor aspects of the human body. These findings can help medical teams to improve the targets of their Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) procedures in patients with dystonia and Parkinson’s disease.

European project SafeCloud achieves positive evaluation in the first year
The European project SafeCloud has received positive feedback from its first year of activity as a result of the European Commission's evaluation, which took place in November in Brussels. Led by INESC TEC, represented in this project by HASLab – High Assurance Software Laboratory, one of 13 integrated R&D centres, this project features about 30 researchers, in a consortium of seven European partners.

INESC TEC in new European Smart Grids project
The kick-off meeting of European project InteGrid took place on 12 and 13 January, in Lisbon. The project is coordinated by EDP Distribuição and has been approved by the European Commission, as part of the European programme Horizon 2020, with a budget of 15 million Euros and a duration of 42 months.
