INESC TEC participated in an international workshop of the European network of innovation agencies

On 30 May, a meeting of agencies from different countries related to the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, entitled “National agencies at the forefront of a new model for innovation support in the EU: The Funders’ Perspective”, took place at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. The Funders’ Perspective”.

It was organized by TAFTIE – The European Network of Innovation Agencies, the goal of this initiative was to analyse and clarify the role of these agencies in the elaboration of the respective ecosystem under the new funding programmes. More than 50 European institutions were represented, in a total of 86 participants including the European Commission that presented the new tools of the European Innovation Council.

Catarina Maia, head of INESC TEC’s Technology Licensing Office (SAL), was invited to participate in a panel about the theme of spin-offs, right from its creation to their successful transition into the market, as well as financing and technology transfer opportunities with a communication on "What respective roles for TTOs / innovation agencies / investors in bridging the gap". Representatives from science and innovation agencies, from the European Investment Fund and from venture capital funds also participated on the same panel.

The initiative was promoted by the Task Force “Soft Power” of TAFTIE. TAFTIE consists of a group of 29 organisations from 28 European countries and aims to promote collaboration in the field of the implementation of national technology programmes in order to benefit both their governments and enterprises. The Portuguese participation in this group is led by the Portuguese National Innovation Agency (ANI).
