INESC TEC article about microgrids is among the most quoted ones in Research Gate

João Peças Lopes, Carlos Moreira and André Madureira, Associate Director and researchers of INESC TEC’s Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), respectively, are the authors of the article entitled "Defining Control Strategies for MicroGrids Islanded Operation", an article that exceeded 1500 quotes in the “Research Gate” network.

This article, which was published on June 2006 in the journal “IEEE Transactions on Power Systems”, is about the identification of strategies for the microgrids islanded operation, which is extremely important to ensure the resilience to the LV grids with its own generation and local storage capacity. In fact, currently, the intention is for the power distribution grids to be robust in order to operate in isolation in the wake of natural disasters (storms, earthquakes) that make it impossible to operate in standard mode due to the breaking of the connection with upstream networks.

Research Gate portal is a professional network for scientists and researchers, which already has more than 15 million members from all over the world. The goal of this grid is to share, discover and debate researches and developments in order to gather a worldwide scientific work in a single space and to make it available for everyone.
