Sonae Arauco searches for a collaboration opportunity in INESC TEC
A group of managers from Sonae Arauco visited INESC TEC on 16 April. The main goal was to gather information on the work developed at the Institute and to cross-check it with the needs of the company in order to define future opportunities for collaboration.
The visit started with an institutional exhibition of INESC TEC by Américo Azevedo, Coordinator of the Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE), in which the institution was globally introduced, as well as its scientific innovation model and its activity in the several fields of science and technology to which it is dedicated.
After a brief presentation about the main development problems and goals of Sonae Arauco, the expertise and experience of INESC TEC were presented, for example, in the areas of operation management, resources and processes, logistics and mobility, enterprise information systems, business analysis and intelligence, automation and intelligent systems, networks and cybersecurity and data processing, among others.
INESC TEC was also represented by António Paulo Moreira, Coordinator of the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS), Ana Viana and Elsa Silva, Coordinator and collaborator of the Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI), respectively, Filipe Ribeiro, Coordinator of the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM) and José Nina de Andrade, Manager of the Industry Partnership Service (SAPE).
Sonae Arauco is a worldwide company that produces wood-based panels. Its mission is to offer solutions for the furniture and interior design sectors, investing in innovation, design and quality of its products. With 23 industrial units in nine countries, it has currently reached a business volume of over EUR 800 million.
