Serious Thinking

"Our adventurous spirit must be fed. That is what INESC TEC is made of, otherwise we wouldn’t be pioneers in innovation and excellence. That spirit characterises me also.", Ana Paula Silva (CSIG)

Gallery of the Uncommon

INESC TEC researcher publishes another book

Ricardo Queirós, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Research in Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS), has published a book titled Gamification-Based E-Learning Strategies for Computer Programming Education.

The book identifies different approaches and problems related to the use of gamification in the teaching-learning of computer programming, mentioning future trends and new methodologies currently used. The book is therefore a source of reference for practitioners, researchers, teachers and students in the area of computer science.

Besides being a researcher at CRACS, Ricardo Queirós also teaches at the School of Media Arts and Design at the Polytechnic of Porto (ESMAD/P.Porto). With a PhD in Computer Science from the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (FCUP), he conducts research in interoperability and systems integration, as well as web development and mobile devices, with a special focus on e-learning systems.

The book is available on Amazon.
