We are what we do

We are what we do

We are what we do. What is not done does not exist. Therefore, we only exist when we do something. In those days when we do not, we merely last. (1)

At the core of the economic crisis, of the needs and hardships, should we do or last? Should we exist or simply stay?

In difficult times it is important to dream. At INESC TEC, we are all summoned. When there is a dream, all sacrifice is hope. When dreams are absent, all is wasted.

One cannot do anything without awareness. Therefore, it is important for us all to be aware of the path to follow. It is important that we are all called to make an extra effort to overcome limitations. Without awareness we cannot move forward, we are merely adrift.

Doing is transforming. That which is not transformed merely lasts, and will not transcend. Therefore, we will only transcend when we transform. When we do not, we are but a shadow.

We aspire to be more; we desire to benefit from the virtue of excellence. But we are what we repeatedly do. Excelence, therefore, is not an act but a habit. (2)

At INESC TEC we will gain that habit; we shall go there, where the dream might lead us.
