INESC TEC integrates European project on smart grids

INESC TEC has recently integrated the team of the European project ELECTRA – European Liaison on Electricity grid Committed Towards long-term Research Activities. This is an integrated research project (IRP) on smart grids where the main goal is to strengthen the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids. The project duration is 48 months.

Considering the goals established in the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan  (or SET-Plan), where the purpose is to accelerate the development and deployment of cost-effective low carbon technologies,  project ELECTRA aims at coordinating and enhancing the results of European research on smart grids.

Nuno Fidalgo, a researcher at INESC TEC’s Power Systems Unit (USE), will be representing INESC TEC in this project. Other than the Portuguese institute, a further 20 institutions from 18 European countries will be participating in this project. The project will start officially on 1 September this year.
