INESC TEC participates in IoT Week 2019
Within the framework of the recently adopted European project InterConnect, INESC TEC participated in the 9th edition of IoT Week, which was held between 17 and 21 June in Aarhus, Denmark. INESC TEC is the leading partner of this project, which will officially start in October of 2019.
Fábio Coelho, a researcher of INESC TEC’s High-Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab), represented the institution and the European project in the “Nuances of IoT Marketplaces. Energy, Mobility, Smart Cities and Beyond” workshop, which took place on 20 June. The presentation of the project was focused on its goals, highlighting the vision regarding the need for interoperability between digital energy platforms, buildings and residential communities. At the heart of the programme, there is an interoperability framework, which will be based on a reference architecture based on SAREF, and a digital market for the provision of innovative services.
IoT Week is an event organised annually in order to debate the challenges and opportunities of Iot, bringing together representatives of the European Commission, as well as international representatives from the business and academic world.
With the participation of 51 entities from 11 European countries, InterConnect will run for four years and will have an overall funding of EUR 36 million. It should be noted that the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), HASLab and the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM) are the INESC TEC’s centres involved in this project.
