INESC TEC participates in Oceans 2019
INESC TEC participated in the Oceans’19 international conference, which took place in Marseille from 17 to 20 June through the Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS) and the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM).
More than 2000 participants had the opportunity to meet the leaders in innovation and production of marine technologies and research. From CRAS, Alexandra Nunes, Ana Rita Gaspar, Paula Lima, Alfredo Martins, André Dias, Eduardo Silva, Nuno Cruz, Shravan Dev Rajesh and Pedro Geraldes participated in the conference, while Vasco Correia represented CTM.
Besides the presentation of papers and posters of these researchers, Eduardo Silva, Coordinator of CRAS, was also present in a round table with the theme “Artificial intelligence for ocean-going autonomous vehicles”.
In the exhibition area, with the presence of more than 100 institutions and companies, INESC TEC presented a stand in which it promoted its skills and projects within the scope of maritime research.
In this event, there was also an opportunity to communicate that the edition of the “Oceans’21” conference will be held in Porto and it will feature several elements of INESC TEC in the Organising Committee.
OCEANS conference, which is organised by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) association and by the Marine Technology Society (MTS), is a biannual event oriented towards professionals of the areas related to the sea, namely technicians, engineers, students and researchers for a meeting that intends to highlight relevant topics and current trends.
