Call for a Research Grant within the project "ShakeIt"

  • INESC PORTO is accepting applications for a scientific research grant to work in the research Project "SHAKEIT" in the following area: Sound and Music Computing. We are looking for candidates holding a Degree (Pre-Bologna) or MSc in Music Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar area. Knowledge of Signal Processing, Matlab and some experience with machine learning frameworks are all essential (Optional, but preferential: Knowledge of Max/MSP or Pd, C++ (MARSYAS is a plus), any scripting language).

We are looking for candidates holding a PhD in Music Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar area. We are looking for candidates holding an MSc in Physics - Photonics. Knowledge of English (spoken and written) and experience in data treatment and Optical fibersensors are all essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Optoelectronics.

Call for a Research Grant within the Project "FIRE-ENGINE"

  • INESC PORTO is accepting applications for a scientific research grant to work in Project "Flexible Design of Forest Fire Management Systems" in the following area: Engineering Systems, Wildfire Management Systems, Operations Research, and Ethnography. We are looking for candidates holding an MSc in Engineering (completed or to be completed by August 2011). As a minimum requirement candidates must have: strong foundations in Mathematics, training in Operations Research, Process Modeling, Logistics, Operations Management, General Management, some formal training in Social Science disciplines, two years of industry experience, the must be fluent in Portuguese, have knowledge of Portuguese geography, society and culture, and must be available to spend time at MIT and in multiple locations in Portugal for the ethnographic study. Preference will be given to candidates with an education that covers engineering, management and social science disciplines, formal education in research methods, three or more years of industry experience and intend on completing a PhD degree.
