INESC Porto Researcher distinguished with a "Best Paper Award" in the MODELS 2010

João Pascoal Faria, researcher at the Information and Computer Graphics Systems Unit (USIG) received the "Best Paper Award" at the MODELS 2010 - 13th International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems. The award winning article "A Metamodel-based Approach for Automatic User Interface Generation" was co-written with a doctorate student António Miguel Rosado da Cruz, from the Doctoral Programme in Informatics Engineering (ProDEI).   

Since his training 25 years ago João Pascoal Faria has been linked to research at INESC Porto. He is the Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP). Furthermore, in 2009 he co-founded Strongstep a spinoff company from the University of Porto. He completed his Doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP and holds more than 20 years of experience in education, research and technology transfer in Software Engineering.     

MODELS is the most important international conference on model-driven software engineering and the 2010 edition took place in Oslo in Norway between 3rd and 8th October.
