Leonel Dias and André Rodrigues

Leonel Dias and André Rodrigues (USIG)

The Managers at the Information and Computer Graphics Systems Unit (USIG) stated – “Following the complete launching of the Douro Valley Portal, with contents available in English and in Spanish – besides Portuguese –, the Managers at the Information and Computer Graphics Systems Unit (USIG) would like to nominate Leonel Dias and André Rodrigues for the Limelight section. Their dedication and performance were crucial to successfully develop and launch this project and the quality of their work has been widely acknowledged.”

Grasiela Almeida

Grasiela Almeida (UESP, UITT and Brazil Office)

The Managers at the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (UESP) stated – “Grasiela has been working at UESP as a secretary for the past few years and her performance has been nothing but exceptional, always worthy of acknowledgement. She executes all her tasks very efficiently and autonomously; she is very reliable and has a great sense of responsibility. Grasiela is very proactive, always trying to prevent possible problems and even before someone asks for her help. And of course she always does everything with a smile on her face, contributing to the positive result and work environment at the Unit”.

The Managers at the Innovation and Technology Transfer Unit (UITT) stated – “Grasiela more than deserves to be here on the Limelight section. Every day she manages to prove how disciplined, organised, professional, creative and humble she is. Grasiela is always very nice and her problem-solving skills are outstanding and because of her we are all more productive and rich”.

The manager at the Brazil Office stated – “Grasiela Almeida is currently a secretary at three different INESC TEC departments: UESP, UITT and the Brazil Office. Early this year, Grasiela has been directly supporting the Brazil Office and INESC P&D Brasil (INESC R&D Brazil) with the negotiations between INESC TEC and PETROBRAS.  Last April, Grasiela helped organise a Workshop, which took place at the facilities of CENPES/PETROBRAS in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This event was organised together with a support team at PETROBRAS and took eight INESC TEC researchers from different INESC TEC Units to Brazil. In that period, Grasiela took the challenge of understanding the Brazilian market and the necessary logistics for INESC TEC to be in a country such as Brazil”.

Manuel Barbosa and José Orlando Pereira (HASLAB)

The Managers at the High Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab) stated – “Over the last years, these researchers have been the main mentors and promoters of applications to national and European projects in two (of the three) areas of intervention at HASLab; they have also been responsible for carrying out the proposals which are provided funding. Their scientific work, as well as their support to and promotion of the group have been absolutely commendable."
