Jaime Cardoso (UTM) – May
The Managers of the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM) stated – “Professor Jaime Cardoso has been making a remarkable work supervising a group of people within UTM conducting research on visual information computing, which has already obtained relevant scientific research and developed very useful prototypes. His research group has already held its 100th work meeting, which is also indicative of Professor Jaime’s commitment and perseverance to create a cohesive and high quality group with well-defined research goals.”
Alexandra Marques (UESP) – June
The Managers of the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (UESP) stated – “Over the last few months, Alexandra Marques has done an excellent job of leading and coordinating a call for a large European project, which has recently been approved by the European Commission. This project, which will last two years and a half, is strategic to UESP not only due to its nature but also because of the results expected.
Furthermore, Alexandra worked on this call in parallel with her demanding role in several projects developed as part of the PRODUTECH, and has recently submitted a paper to an international journal and participated in several scientific conferences.”
Ricardo Vilaça (HASLAB) – July
The Manager of the High Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab) stated – “Ricardo Vilaça led the call for project "CoherentPaaS: "A Coherent and Rich PaaS with a Common Programming Model" (an Integrated Project of the 7th Framework Programme which has now been approved) and he has also been involved in the Cloud Computing projects of the "Plano Inovação" by PT Inovação.
Furthermore, this post-doctoral grant holder has been doing an outstanding job in executing European and national projects within HASLab, while supervising MSc and PhD students in the group.”
