INESC TEC: 30 years of accomplishments

In 2015, INESC will be celebrating 30 years of existence in Porto – three decades of knowledge production and technology transfer.

Over the last 30 years we have grown (not just in terms of human resources), and we have embraced new research areas, we have broadened our horizons – we are now present in different Portuguese cities and on the other side of the Atlantic –, and we have fulfilled some dreams and now have other goals for the future. We started 2015 on the right foot after being rated as “Excellent” as part of the evaluation carried out by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

We have various reasons to smile and to celebrate, and for that reason we are preparing various initiatives to mark this anniversary. These initiatives include: 30 TV documentaries; a commemorative book; a gathering for all INESC TEC members and families; a congress on ICT innovation and a technology exhibition; a commemorative concert at the Casa da Música; a conference on the role of university interface institutions and the new ways of managing science; a science event promoted by young researchers; and photography sessions (through a protocol with the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto  and the School of Music and Performing Arts).

All these initiatives are accompanied by a change in the institution’s corporate image, which has been reinvented to mark the 30th anniversary.

Come celebrate with us these 30 years of accomplishments!
