Where are you now?
Every month INESC TEC sends highly qualified individuals into the market. These individuals often then go on to occupy important positions in some of the best national and international companies or they opt to form spin-offs. As the best way to perform technology transfer is through individuals, this section is dedicated to collaborators that trained at INESC TEC and now star in other companies and institutions.

- Year when you began working at INESC TEC and when you left: 2004
- Centre(S) at INESC TEC where you worked: CROB (now CRIIS)
- Name(s) of project(s) you were involved in: Surveillance Robot, Robotic Soccer, AGV AutoEurop
Explain your experience since leaving INESC TEC
I am now working in AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) at Handling Solutions, where I design and implement autonomous vehicles. Robotics plays a fundamental role in this business area. I concluded my PhD in mobile robotics in February 2013, and it was at INESC TEC that I developed the localisation component of the Surveillance Robot. Scientifically speaking, this is the area I am still working on, although now I am in industry.
At INESC TEC, I acquired knowledge and experience that has shaped me professionally, giving me the necessary baggage for industry.
I think INESC TEC is still doing a good job, and is at the forefront of science as always.

- Centre(s) at INESC TEC where you worked: CESE
- Name(s) of project(s) you were involved in: Net-Challenge
Explain your experience since leaving INESC TEC
Winsig specialises in information systems consulting and implementation, and has over 400 clients and implementations in Portugal, Spain, Angola and Brazil.
The relationship I promote with my clients is one of great respect and knowledge sharing. This was, in fact, one of the areas where INESC TEC contributed the most to my professional development. The constant search for research and innovation at INESC TEC has taught me the right skills for finding and implementing the ideal solutions for my clients.
My work at INESC TEC was quite rewarding, firstly because I had the opportunity to contact directly with the emerging trends of the industry, knowledge and networking sectors, mainly as part of my participation in European project Net-Challenge, but also because I had the opportunity to represent INESC TEC as an expert before the European Commission.
I remember my years at INESC TEC as a time of sharing and friendship. These are teachings I use daily with my co-workers, with clients, and mainly the constant search for adequate knowledge to develop effective and efficient solutions.
Ana Carolina Janeiro, Project Manager, EDP Distribuição
- Year when you began working at INESC TEC and when you left: 2014-2015
- Centre(s) at INESC TEC where you worked: CEGI, CPES
- Name(s) of project(s) you were involved in: Project 3Phase
Explain your experience since leaving INESC TEC
I left INESC TEC in February of 2015, which was when I started working at EDP Distribuição.
Although I haven’t stayed at INESC TEC for long, it was my first professional experience. The work environment is great and my colleagues were really helpful. Furthermore, I got to work in several industry-related projects so now working with industry is a lot easier.
Even though I only left recently, I see that INESC TEC keeps disseminating the work conducted by its research centres. Moreover, I see that INESC TEC keeps growing, particularly in terms of projects with industry.
