INESC TEC participates in conference of the EuroDefense network
On 14 April, INESC TEC participated in the EURODEFENSE conference, with the theme "Economy of Defense: dual-use research and technology projects - The Turtle Project", which took place at the Naval Academy in Lisbon. The goal was to analyse the opportunities offered by European structural funds to strengthen the European security and defense capabilities.
INESC TEC was represented by the Coordinator of the Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS), Eduardo Silva, who did a presentation titled “A view from the R&T community”. Eduardo Silva is one of the leaders of the TURTLE project (Technologies for long-term presence in the deep sea ) – the first underwater robotics platform for the deep sea fully developed in Portugal.
The conference was organised as part of the meeting with the presidents of the national associations that are part of the EURODEFENSE, which took place on 13, 14 and 15 April.
The goal of the EURODEFENSE network of associations is to raise the awareness of European countries to the need to assume greater responsibility in the area of security and defense. The network is composed of 14 member states of the European Union.
