our section on tv

BIP is no longer a baby. It has been through a lot and it’s going to celebrate 19 years this year. However, now and again it suffers setbacks...but it doesn’t fall.

The latest one was finding out that in this crazy war for ratings, there was a Portuguese channel that, in a desperate attempt to match Cristina Ferreira's success, did something incredible. Can you guess what? It visited BIP’s webpage and stole the name of one of our favourite (and most arduous) sections: B-side.

Apparently, the morning show of a certain channel that begins with “T” and ends with “VI” has a section of “intimate interviews with personalities well known to the public” with the same name as our section. The war for ratings reached its higher point.

At first, we were surprised. Then, furious and after a while a little proud of ourselves. But in the end, all we could think about was to REACT. We can't let them get away with this! What if they decide to start copying our news pieces, the editorial, the highlight or the special sections? These are sections that we must protect. We’ll make use of our Legal Support and Technology Licensing services to register these original brands so that they can no longer be copied. Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's!

Rumour has it that, in fact, the section that the channel really wanted to duplicate was the “Where are you now?”. Go figure.
