INESC TEC signs memorandum with Indian Technology Institute
In December, a new impulse was given to the cooperation with India through the signature and the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between INESC TEC and IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology Madras of Chennai. This memorandum sets the principles for cooperation in research, development and technology projects in all the areas covered by INESC TEC’s lines of action. Its establishment is the result of the involvement of the Ambassador of India in Lisbon, Nandini Singla, thus promoting the rapprochement between the heads of the two institutions.
IIT Madras is an engineering higher education institution from India that belongs to the group of first-level schools in that country - the IIT. Additionally, according to the assessment system of the universities from the Indian Government, the NIRF - National Institutional Ranking Framework which is under the auspices of the MHRD - Ministry of Human Resource Development, the IIT Madras has been ranked first among hundreds of universities and higher education institutions for several years now.
Under the impulse of INESC TEC's India Office of the International Relations Office (GRI), proceedings are currently being developed for a meeting between researchers from both institutions for the creation of joint activities and for the cooperation in projects, where a rapprochement in the robotics and energy areas is already happening.
