INESC TEC participates in the FAMEST project
The general annual meeting of the mobilising project for the Portuguese footwear entitled FAMEST - Footwear, Advanced Materials, Equipment’s and Software Technologies, which has the involvement of INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE), took place on 9 January at the Portuguese Technological Footwear Centre (CTCP).
The FAMEST project gathers a consortium of twenty-three companies involved in the sector, as well as nine research centres. From INESC TEC, a team from CESE, including the researchers Rui Diogo Rebelo, António Correia Alves, Paulo Marques, Elder Hernández, Joana Costa and Daniela Silva participates in the project.
The goal of the INESC TEC team is to research, promote and disclose the reality of the industry 4.0 in the footwear industry, through works developed under the “Cyber-Physical Production Systems of Industry 4.0 for Footwear” and the “Collaborative Platform Extended to the Footwear Industry”. In order to develop these works, INESC TEC had the support and partnership of companies related to the footwear industry, namely KYAIA, JEFAR, AMF, FLOWMAT, CEI, OFICINA DE SOLUÇÕES and CTCP.
The results presented in the meeting concerned the first year of the project. In the activity “Cyber-Physical Production Systems of Industry 4.0 for Footwear”, the potential of an IIoT platform for the collection and provision of information from the machine to the information systems, the RFID system for the detection and traceability of a product in the production line and an AGV prototype for internal logistics were presented in a showroom.
In the activity “Collaborative Platform Extended to the Footwear Industry”, a reference model was presented for the collaborative management extended to the footwear industry, which will serve as a basis for the development of collaborative platforms.
