"My story in Portugal begins on a sunny day in February 2011. I can still remember the last moments of that freaky flight from Tehran (Iran) to Lisbon. When the plane landed, I had no idea of what was awaiting me." Samaneh Khoshrou (UTM)

INESC TEC begins project iTESLA

The Power Systems Unit (USE) at INESC TEC represented by André Madureira participated in the opening of project iTELSA that took place on 18th January in Paris at the RTE (the French transmission system operator and project leader). The meeting of the Executive Board (Comité Executivo) aimed to discuss the initial work and the main tasks that will be developed over the first three months.

Project iTELSA (innovative Tools for Electrical System security within Large Areas) is one of the largest European projects in pan-European transmission networks with several European transmission system operators including REN (Rede Eléctrica Nacional, Portugal) and research centres and universities including INESC TEC.

The aim of project iTELSA is to provide a flexible tool that can support pan- European electrical energy transmission networks.  INESC TEC’s USE will be responsible for the development of Work Package 7 that will focus on the integration and validation of this tool.
