Limelight
The Limelight Series
In a universe of over 700 employees, there are many months in which the performance of more than one collaborator is worthy of note in the “Limelight” section. Proof of that is that oftentimes we have more than one person nominated. For that reason, we decided to change the rules: as of edition No. 144, BIP will highlight all nominees each month, and all will be equal in merit.
Hélder Oliveira (UTM) – February
The Managers of the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM) stated: “Hélder Oliveira played a fundamental role in the assessment meeting of European project PICTURE, which took place in January. In this project, Hélder has demonstrated excellent management and technical execution skills. Moreover, his performance and dedication in the supervision of MSc and PhD students, as well as the activity at UTM, have been outstanding.”
Pedro Jorge (UOSE) – March
The Managers of the Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE) stated: “In February, Pedro Jorge worked very hard to conclude a large and important proposal with INESC R&D Brazil. This was the last result of a progressive supervision of projects where economic valorisation plays a fundamental role, which we hope can be replicated.
In the case of Pedro Jorge, this component has been balanced with a more scientific activity, the foundation to generate the knowledge that brings valorisation possibilities for the future.”
Paula Faria (Accounting and Finance) – April
The Board of INESC TEC stated: “For many years Paula Faria has been more than a loyal and dedicated employee; she has stood out as a fundamental pillar for the financial stability, correctness and security at INESC TEC, taking on various responsibilities at the institution.
Not only is Paula leading a sensitive service – Accounting and Finance –, but she’s also doing a PhD, which means an extreme personal investment on her part. The international scientific award that she has now received unequivocally strengthens the public recognition of her merit and fills us with pride as we have always supported personal development and allowed people to express their individual value.”
