INESC TEC co-organises International Conference on Image Analysis and Recognition

The coordinator of INESC TEC’s recently created Centre for Research in Biomedical Engineering (C-BER), Aurélio Campilho, is co-organising the International Conference on Image Analysis and Recognition (ICIAR 2014), which will take place between 22 and 24 October in Vilamoura, Portugal.

The deadline to submit applications is 4 May and the deadline to submit proposals for special sections is 1 April. In this edition, the Special Topic is Sparse Representations for Image Analysis and Recognition. The other topics of the conference include “Image Analysis and Processing”, “Image and Video Coding”, “Search and indexing in image databases”, “Pattern Recognition” and “Applications”. The guest speakers of the 2014 ICIAR are Mário Figueiredo of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, Jean-Luc Starck of CosmoStat Laboratory, France, and Michael Unser of the École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, Switzerland. Their lectures will be focusing on the conference’s Special Topic.

The ICIAR 2014 aims at providing a forum to present and discuss the most recent advances in Image Processing, Analysis and Recognition. The conference is supported by INESC TEC, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and the Centre for Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (CPAMI) of the University of Waterloo, Canada.
