INESC Porto becomes INESC TEC
On 28 May, with the change of the statutes of INESC Porto, which included a change in the name of the institution, INESC Porto officially became INESC TEC – Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science.
This decision is a consequence of the change in the name of the Associate Laboratory from INESC Porto LA to INESC TEC, in May 2011, following a transitional phase in the institution’s image. With this change, the name “INESC TEC” applies not only to the associate laboratory, but also to the legal person.
The goal with the adoption of the new name is to consolidate the image of the institution as an international R&D Unit.
