Call for abstracts is now open for energy conference organised by INESC TEC

INESC TEC’s Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) is organising the 13th edition of the International Conference on the European Energy Market, EEM2016. The 2016 edition of the conference will take place  between 6 and 9 June at FEUP, which is also part of the organising committee. Abstracts can be submitted until November 2015.

The EEM conferences provide an important forum to discuss ideas related to energy markets, mathematical formulations, regulatory policies and climate change, as well as the changes and the challenges facing the energy sectors on the long and medium term. The city of Lisbon hosted the previous editions of this conference in 2008 and 2015.

The EEM Conferences take place annually  and have been growing significantly over the last years, not only in terms of papers submitted, but also in the number of participants and their geographical distribution, as well as the level of the technical and plenary sessions in the programmes.

A significant number of CPES researchers are involved in the 2016 edition of this conference, such as João Tomé Saraiva, José Nuno Fidalgo, Chair and Vice Chair of the EEM 2016, respectively, Manuel Matos, Chair of the International Scientific Committee, Jorge Pereira, José Rui Ferreira, Hélder Leite, Leonel Carvalho, Maria Helena Vasconcelos and Phillipe Vilaça Gomes.

Some of the topics addressed in the conference are electricity management, grid management, regulation, monitoring, energy forecasts, the present and future of gas and coal markets, among others.

The INESC TEC researchers mentioned in this article are associated with the following partner institution: INESC TEC, UP-FEUP.
