USIC participates in European project for eInclusion

The information and Communications Systems Unit (USIC) has participated in an application for the call ADD ME!  - Activating Drivers for Digital eMpowerment in Europe, submitted for funding that will be provided by the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme - ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP).

This initiative was developed within ELANET – European Local Authorities'Telematic Network, in a team set up by 21 partners from seven member states (Italy, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Greece and the Czech Republic) and Norway, in four different areas of intervention: Government Entities and Research Institutions, Service Providers, experts on inclusion and Citizen Associations. Portugal is not only represented by INESC Porto, but also by the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, through its Division for Social Affairs.

The aim with this project is to create a Theme Network focused on eInclusion (digital inclusion) in order to promote digital inclusion and the development of the technologies of societal groups that are excluded or facing exclusion (immigrants, senior citizens, young people who are unemployed and/or with low incomes, ethnic groups, among others).
