One of INESC Porto's partners awarded at Empreenda 09

The project ESVI (Energia Sol Vento Invest), INESC Porto’s partner, won the award for "Best Project Presentation" at the Empreenda 09 initiative, which took place on 22 April. This initiative has already originated the establishment of the HESVI company.

Luís de Pessoa Santos is the researcher behind this idea that is based on the development of a new type of glass integrated photovoltaic solar panels for the international industry of aluminium windows and façades. This is an innovative technology targeting a market that is capable of absorbing new solutions that can offer several levels of transparency, and a wider range of colours and motifs, when compared to the currently used technology.

The application to IAPMEI’s Finicia programme led the mechanical engineer to get in touch with the Innovation and Technology Transfer (UITT) of INESC Porto. This collaboration made the development of a business plan possible. The ESVI project also has the support of a Swiss company in the sector of renewable energies and a French company that develops aluminium windows. As a result, as highlighted by Luís de Pessoa Santos, it was possible to develop a European project in Portugal.

Other than INESC Porto, the ESVI project includes other partners such as a company working in renewable energies and A2Z International.
