INESC TEC researcher edits special issue on Multimedia

Paula Viana, a researcher at INESC TEC's Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM), has recently been invited to edit a special issue of Springer's Multimedia Tools and Applications (MTAP) journal, published in October 2016.
The MTAP is one of the most relevant in the field of Multimedia, being classified as belonging to Quartile 1 (Q1) in the area of Media Technology.

This work, dedicated to the theme “Immersive Media Experiences”, was developed in partnership with Teresa Chambel (FCUL, PT), Michael Bove (MIT Media Lab, USA), Sharon Strover (University of Texas, Austin, USA) and Graham Thomas (BBC, UK). The work contributes to the research in the field of media technologies, providing a valuable resource for all those interested in this field of research.

Paula Viana holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto and teaches at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. At INESC TEC, she coordinates CTM’s Multimedia Communication Technologies area, where she has led several national and international projects with academia and industry.
