INESC P&D Brasil completes first year of project TECCON 2

A group of researchers from INESC P&D Brasil, together with eight universities in the INESC Brazil network (UFSC, UFCG, UNICAMP, UDESC, UFMA, UTFPR, UFPA and UFG), INESC TEC and representatives of the power transmission group TBE (Transmissoras Brasileiras de Energia) met in Florianópolis in December 2016 in order to present and discuss the results obtained in 2016 as part of project TECCON 2.

The first conclusions presented by the representatives of the TBE Group have been very positive, especially the management model that INESC P&D Brasil has been using in the project. According to the project manager at TBE, Eden Carvalho, who is very experienced in managing projects as part of the ANEEL programme, a project that uses such a model is unprecedented in Brazil, an opinion shared by all representatives of the TBE Group.

In terms of the technical results obtained, it was possible to understand that the distribution of modules and tasks by the different partners of the INESC Brasil network, with different areas of expertise, has led to multiple unexpected results and discussions, which in turn can lead to new solutions, enriching the initial goals of the project.

The TBE Group gave the green light to the project’s continuation. In 2017, the team will be implementing what has been specified and studied in 2016.
