Researcher from INESC TEC joins the editorial board of the IEEE

Ricardo Bessa, senior researcher of INESC TEC’s Centre for Power and Energy Systems was recently incorporated on the editorial board of IEEE journal Transactions on Sustainable Energy. This is an international scientific journal, which focuses on basic and applied research in the field of sustainable energy systems, namely conversion, distribution power grid and transport, energy efficiency and electricity market.

The invitation is the result of several publications in IEEE journals on the wind and solar energy forecast, integration of electric vehicle on the electricity market and electrical system operation with a high integration of renewable energies. In 2015 and 2017, the researcher was placed on the list of Outstanding Reviewers of that same journal.

Over several years, INESC TEC has carried out crucial and applied research on the field of sustainable energy systems, particularly focused on smart power grid and integration of power conversion technology into isolated and interconnected electrical systems. The outcome is an international acknowledgment of the results and associated researchers.
