Innovation in Agri-Food Industry presented by INESC TEC

The third conference of the cycle «Portuguese economy and industry 4.0 – A journey to a new industrialisation» was organised by Grupo Editorial Vida Económica in cooperation with INESC TEC. Its main theme was “The Portuguese economy and industry 4.0: Agri-food Industry” and it took place on 8 February at the Porto Accounting and Business School auditorium, ISCAP.

The presence of INESC TEC included the intervention of Pedro Amorim of the Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI). It was entitled «The innovation for Agri-food Industry within the context of digital economy». The programme also involved the participation of Deolinda Silva (Portugal Foods) and Manuel Póvoas (Santander Totta) where both discussed the “Agri-food scenarios within the context of industry 4.0» and «Funding and Investing in Agri-food Industry», respectively.

João Luís de Sousa, Director of the weekly newspaper “Vida Económica”, moderated the subsequent round-table discussion with the theme “Companies and the Industry 4.0”. Rogério Silva (Frulact), Filipe Simões (Frueat), Miguel Fernandes (FoodinTech) and Marlos Silva (Sonae MC) also attended the discussion.

Further conferences scheduled for this cycle will be focusing on subjects such as ocean and energy.
