INESC TEC contributes to innovate Sea Cluster

The cycle «Portuguese economy and industry 4.0 – A journey to a new industrialisation», organised by Grupo Editorial Vida Económica in cooperation with INESC TEC, promoted its fourth conference about the Sea Cluster. It took place on 21 February at Auditório do Parque de Exposições de Aveiro.

INESC TEC’s participation was led by Carlos Pinho, member of INESC TEC’s Industry Partnership Service (SAPE) and assistant coordinator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS), with the presentation «The future of Sea».

At the opening session, there were also present Rui Azevedo (Fórum Oceano), Miguel Marques (PwC) with the subject «Economic and companies involvement of Sea economy» and at the closure was José Ribau Esteves, Aveiro City Council. At the round-table discussion about “Companies and Industry 4.0” participated Rui Barros (Mitmynid), Vítor Figueiredo (WestSea, Martifer group), Pedro Jorge (FRIP group), Rui Costa (TICE’s competitiveness cluster), Pedro Machado (Tourism region of center of Portugal) and António Gameiro Marques (National Security Office).

There was also the opportunity to get to know the winners of the Entrepeneur Prizes ‘Splash by Mermaid’ and ‘Born From Knowledge’ (BfK award). The prize ‘Splash by Mermaid’ was awarded by Mermaid Investment and its jury were represented by Daniel Bessa and Miguel Henriques. Nuno Lúcio represented the prize «Born from Knowledge» of Portuguese National Innovation Agency (ANI).

The fifth and last conference of the cycle will address the energy sector and it will be held in mid-March in Viana do Castelo.
