Limelight
Every month, this section will honour a collaborator for an exceptional contribution in his/her area of activity. BIP’s Editors will have the final choice. However, the cooperation of every Unit Coordinator is precious since they will be the ones suggesting which collaborator should be distinguished...
Tânia Leandro and Teresa Raposo Antunes (DIL) - September
"I would like to nominate not one, but two people. I’m nominating them for the same reason and therefore I cannot just choose one of them.
They are Tânia Leandro and Teresa Raposo Antunes, both of them previously nominated for other reasons. In July, Tânia and Teresa both stood out for their valuable, committed and professional contribution (already acknowledged by the Board of Directors) for the elaboration of the application to QREN’s ON2 programme regarding INESC Porto’s new building. Both Tânia and Teresa, each one in her own area of competence, did a great part of the base work that a large application implies, which, as usual, lasted until the deadline. It is important to highlight their professionalism and autonomy, as well as their ability to work in teams, and the fact that they are the youngest members of DIL." (Graça Barbosa, Coordinator of the Department of Information and Logistics - DIL)
Rui Barros (USIC) - October
"I would like to nominate Rui Barros for the Limelight section in the month October. Over the last few months, he was involved in several initiatives, such as service providing procedures, European projects and Interreg projects. At the same time, he executed ongoing contractual commitments, supported the management of the Unit’s IT infrastructure, while trying to finish his Master’s dissertation. I would like to highlight that he did an outstanding work making the activities in his area and his colleagues’ more dynamic. In September, this effort really started paying off: two important service providing proposals were approved and a European project went to a contractual stage. Rui has always been on the “Limelight”, but the results obtained in September are particularly worth highlighting " (António Gaspar, Coordinator of the Information and Communication Systems Unit - USIC)
