Hungary follows recommendation from a study developed by USE

The Hungarian Energy Authority has announced that a call for applications for the installation of wind production in the country will be launched. The definition of the limits for the wind power to be installed in Hungary was the result of a study that the Power Systems Units (USE) developed for this Energy Authority in 2008.

This technical consulting aimed at identifying the possibilities of increasing the production of electricity from wind power in order to allow Hungary to contribute to the effort that the European Union has been making in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Hungary had defined a 330 MW wind power integration limit and so the study carried out by USE assessed whether it would be possible to increase this value, involving the use of advanced management and control mechanisms of the wind turbines and wind parks.

João Peças Lopes was the project leader, with the collaboration of Jorge Vasconcelos and Ricardo Bessa.
