Researchers from LIAAD publish book

Pavel Brazdil and Carlos Soares, researchers at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD), are co-authors of a book recently published by Springer, entitled "Metalearning - Applications to Data Mining", written together with Christophe Giraud-Carrier of the Brigham Young University and Ricardo Vilalta of the University of Houston.

The book discusses the systems that use existing knowledge to suggest the most suitable solution for new data mining problems. These systems allow users that are less experienced with data mining techniques to obtain good results.

This is one of the machine learning areas in which LIAAD has been showing significant improvements over the last years.
