Microelectronics Students’ Group highlighted in IEEE Journal

The Microelectronics Students’ Group, which includes members from INESC Porto, was highlighted in the December edition of the Journal Region 8 News of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Established in 2008 by eight students from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), this group specialises in the design of CMOS circuits (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor). The Group soon managed to captivate new members and currently includes more than 20 students.

Radiofrequency circuits is one of the main research themes developed by this group, which is currently preparing an integrated wireless receiver in CMOS technology. It is important to remember that the Microelectronics Students’ Group has already been acknowledged by two international companies, namely with the “Design Contest” Award.

Region 8 News is a quarterly publication from IEEE that is sent to more than 50 thousand members of the Institute.
