INESC TEC’s Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE) has recently concluded the first prototype of a system with Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) technology, which measures the properties of reflected light in order to obtain information, such as distance and the 3D shape of a certain object.

INESC TEC looking after your health
On January 23, INESC TEC presented a total of 34 R&D projects, many developed in partnership with other institutions, in its first Health exhibition: the “Open Day INESC TEC Health 2014”. About two hundred visitors headed to INESC TEC to get to know first-hand the projects made in INESC TEC. Identifying partners interested in exploring the results of research projects, which in some cases requires prototypes and applications to be transformed into commercial products with potential for export, was the main goal of this initiative.
