INESC TEC participates in a technological event in India

INESC TEC was part of the Portuguese delegation, mobilized by idD – the Portuguese Platform for Defence Industries, which participated in the DEFEXPO 2018 event, a defence exhibition that took place in Chennai, India. The goal was to acquire higher visibility and to look for partnerships and agreements with Indian entities, leaders in technologies related to defence - drones, space, information and communication technology, aircraft and naval sectors (construction, maintenance and repair).

INESC TEC participated in Defexpo 2018 in order to “give India the idea that the Portuguese science system works closely with companies”, explained Vladimiro Miranda, INESC TEC’s Member of the Board that was part of the Portuguese mission. With projects funded by the US Navy and working closely with the Portuguese Air Force and the Portuguese Navy, INESC TEC is “in a good position to make companies credible and to export technology”.

Besides INESC TEC, about 15 companies associated with the Portuguese defence industry were present at this event, among them there were some partners of the Institute, such as Tekever or Arsenal of Alfeite.
