Project MANUFACTUR4.0 with the collaboration of INESC TEC

The seminar of the project MANUFACTUR4.0 - Technologies for the Naval and Metal Working Industries, took place on 9 July at the Portuguese Association of Metallurgical, Metal Industries and related Industries (AIMMAP) in Porto.

The goal of this session was to present to the enterprises involved in the project the idea for the basic technologies that are to be integrated in the physical demonstrators (augmented reality/projection mapping as a production support tool, mobile industrial manipulator for machine tending tasks, robotic parts machinery, robotic cell for the manufacture of welded tubes, and non-contact 3D scanning), so that they could define their requirements and assist in the development and validation of these demonstrators, which will be ready by 2019. There was also time to disclose opportunities for the R&D support and Innovation for enterprises.

Under the INTERREG Portugal-Spain programme, the MANUFACTUR4.0 project aims to develop and to transfer new technologies for the naval and metal working industries in the region of Galicia and north of Portugal, and has a partnership with INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) and Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS).

In addition to INESC TEC, the consortium of the project has a partnership with the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), the Portuguese National Innovation Agency (ANI), the Portuguese Technological Center for the Metal Working Industry (CATIM), the Northwestern Metallurgical Research Association (AIMEN) and the Cluster of the Galician Naval Sector (ACLUNAGA).
