President of CCDR-N visits INESC TEC

Fernando Freire de Sousa, President of CCDR-N (Norte Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission) visited INESC TEC on 2 July.

The visit aimed to further develop the knowledge of the Research and Development activities and infrastructures of INESC TEC, of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and of INEGI and to debate the opportunities and the strategic challenges for the future development of the three institutions.

The President of CCDR-N was accompanied in the visit by João Falcão e Cunha, Dean of FEUP and Ana Maria Mendonça, Vice-Dean of FEUP, besides other important people from CCDR-N and FEUP.

The programme included an institutional presentation carried out by José Manuel Mendonça, President of INESC TEC’s Board, in the presence of other members of the Board, namely João Claro, Gabriel David, Luís Carneiro, José Carlos Caldeira, Luís Seca and Manuel Ricardo.

There was also time for the guests to get to know the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles in a visit led by Luís Seca.

The CCDR-N is a public institution, integrated in the Minister of Planning and Infrastructure under the supervision of the Environment Minister, which aims at the integrated and sustainable development of the north of Portugal, contributing to the national territory’s competitiveness and cohesion.
