INESC TEC was visited by the Rector of the University of Porto

The Rector of the University of Porto, who took possession on 27 June, visited INESC TEC on 24 July, accompanied by the Rectoral Team.

The goal was to present the institution and its organisation model, as well as to discuss the main research and technology transfer activities.

The University’s delegation was composed of the rector, António de Sousa Pereira, the vice-rectors Fátima Vieira (Culture, Editions of the University of Porto and Museums), Fernando Silva (Management Information, Educational Technologies, Quality and Improvement), Hélder Vasconcelos (Relations with Companies, Innovation and Entrepreneurship), Maria de Lurdes Correia Fernandes (Academic Training and Organisation and International Relationships) and Pedro Rodrigues (Research, Innovation and Internationalisation), and by the pro-rector João Veloso (Promotion of Portuguese and Pedagogic Innovation). 

The institutional presentation of INESC TEC was conducted by José Manuel Mendonça, president of INESC TEC’s Board, in which he described the organisation model of the R&D activities and of the technology transfer of the Institute. There were also present the members of the Executive Commission, namely the president, João Claro, and the administrators, Gabriel David and Luís Carneiro, and other elements of the Board, Manuel Ricardo and Rui Oliveira, as well as Manuel Matos, President of the Scientific Council of INESC TEC, and the associate directors João Peças Lopes, Mário Jorge Leitão and Vladimiro Miranda.

The visit was also accompanied by António Fernando Silva, Director of the Faculty of Sciences, and Ana Maria Mendonça, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Engineering.
