General Council of the University of Porto visits INESC TEC
The president of the General Council of the University of Porto (U.Porto), Artur Santos Silva, along with other members of the Council, visited INESC TEC on 16 July.
The goal of this initiative was to present the main research and technology transfer activities, as well as the organisation and governance model, followed by an open debate about these topics.
The group heard an institutional presentation carried out by José Manuel Mendonça, President of INESC TEC’s Board, who was accompanied by members of the Executive Commission, namely the president, João Claro, and the administrators, Gabriel David and Luís Carneiro, as well as other members of the Board, such as José Carlos Caldeira, Luís Seca and Rui Oliveira. Other elements from INESC TEC present were Manuel Matos (President of the Scientific Council of INESC TEC), Pedro Guedes de Oliveira (Senior Consultant to the Board), and João Peças Lopes, Mário Jorge Leitão and Vladimiro Miranda (Associate Directors).
The programme ended with the visit to the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles in which the group had the opportunity to know the aspects of this infrastructure, presented by Luís Seca.
Besides the president, the other members of the Council present were Adriano Carvalho, Aurora Teixeira, Diogo Pimenta, Inês Silva, José Fernando Oliveira, Lúcia Matos, Luís Filipe Antunes, Marcos Teixeira and Vítor Silva.
The visit was also accompanied by José Manuel Varejão, Director of the Faculty of Economics, and Ana Maria Mendonça, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Engineering.
