New book on data analysis with INESC TEC’s co- authorship
João Moreira, researcher from INESC TEC’s Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) was the co-author of the book «A General Introduction to Data Analytics» of the publisher Wiley, in collaboration with André Carvalho and Tomás Horvath.
The book explains the principles and methods of data analysis that does not require previous knowledge of statistics or programming. In addition to including exercises and illustrative examples, the authors of the book highlighted the intuition behind the basic data analytics techniques, making it accessible to non-experts.
João Mendes Moreira has a PhD in Computer Science and he is also Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. His main research areas focus on Data Mining and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
