Call for Grant within "Semantic PACS” Project

  • INESC PORTO is accepting applications to award grants in the context of the Research project "Picture Archiving and Communication System with Semantic Search Engine", in the area of Pattern recognition, medical applications, decision support systems. Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar. Minimum requirements: applicants must be experienced in pattern recognition, image retrieval, as well as Matlab and C/C++ programming. Application period: 16 January 2009 to 30 January 2009.

Call for Grant within "Optic-Algae” Project

  • INESC PORTO is accepting applications to award a Scientific Initiation Grant (BIC) in the context of the Research project "OPTIC-ALGAE: Hybrid photobioreactors, containing microstructured optical fibres aimed at operating with microalgae", in the work area of Optical Fibres. Academic degree: applicants must be attending their final of Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering – Telecommunications and Networks, or similar. Minimum requirements: applicants must have knowledge in optical communication systems and optical fibre technologies.   • INESC PORTO is accepting applications to award a grant in the context of the Research project "CROME - Creative Design in optimization with metaheuristics”, in the area of Operations Research. Applicants must have a Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Computer, Systems or Industrial Engineering). Applicants should have specific Training in Operations Research (OR) and in Information Systems. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced knowledge in OR, namely in Modulation, Combinatorial Optimization, Graphs, Arc routing Networks and Metaheuristics, as well as good knowledge and experience in computer programming. The applicants must have a Degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Mathematics, and be fluent in English. Preference will be given to applicants with advanced knowledge on electric system operation, and with experience in the development of computational tools using C or C++; applicants should have knowledge in statistics, computational intelligence and mathematical optimization. Concurso para Atribuição de Bolsa no Âmbito do Projecto "RECOOP" (Refª: BI-M/80032/RECOOP_UTM)

  • INESC Porto is accepting applications to award a grant within the research project "ReCoop: Cooperative Networks" in the work area of user-centric management, wireless cooperative networks, pre-release development. The position is for an MSc holder only. Minimum profile required: basic knowledge in 802.11 networks, solid knowledge in TCP/IP stack, experience in programming languages (C, C++), good knowledge of scripting languages, and experience in UNIX environments. Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience in programming (C and C++) languages, as well as practical experience in MAC layer mechanisms. Application period: 2 February 2009 to 16 February 2009
