INESC TEC went to Azores to discuss electric mobility and smart grids
The World Energy Day was celebrated on 29 May and the São Miguel island in Azores decided to mark the day with the Regional Energy Efficiency Fair (FREE in Portuguese) 2018.
That was why João Peças Lopes, Member of INESC TEC’s Board participated at FREE 2018, an event that gathered a set of initiatives in order to raise awareness in the different public present there on the importance of renewable energies, the advantages of using energy efficiently and the use of electrical vehicles.
The Member of INESC TEC’s Board participated in two panel discussions. The first debate was dedicated to electric mobility and, besides INESC TEC’s, it had interventions from Andreia Carneiro from Regional Directorate for Energy, Nuno Bonneville from MOBI-E and Henrique Sánchez from UVE. The second panel was about smart grids and included interventions from António Vidigal (EDP Inovação), Eduardo Rocha (EDA) and Ana Rita Antunes (Coopérnico).
The Regional Energy Efficiency Fair 2018 also had an exhibition of electrical, hybrid and plug-in vehicles which were available to test drive. The event took place at Largo Hintze Ribeiro, in front of Ribeira Grande’s City Council (São Miguel, Azores).
