Romanian University visits INESC TEC

INESC TEC was visited by the representatives of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania on 18 May to present the work developed at the Institute, namely in the fields of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Energy.

The initiative included a general presentation of INESC TEC, carried out by João Claro, member of the Board, aiming to present, in a global way, the institution, its scientific innovation model, and its activity in the several fields of science and technology and areas of application.

Luís Seca, coordinator of the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) guided the visit to the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles in order to develop and implement solutions for managing electrical networks with a strong integration of renewable energy sources (microgeneration) and flexible charges, including charging systems for electric vehicle batteries.

The delegation was composed by Viorel-Aurel Serban and Liviu Ioan Cadariu-Brailoiu, rector and vice-rector of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, respectively and also by Nicolae Crainic of the Department of Mechanical Machinery, Equipment and Transport of that University, being accompanied by António Torres Marques from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
