INESC TEC’s labs open their doors to the new students of FEUP

About one hundred students from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) had the opportunity to get to know the research work that is carried out daily at INESC TEC’s labs.

New in the university, the freshmen students were able to see and also try some of the projects developed by the researchers of the several R&D Centres.

Between gaming and virtual reality experiences at the Computer Graphics, Interaction and Gaming Laboratory, industrial robots manipulation at the Laboratory of Robotics, electric vehicles and smart energy meter devices at the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles, and microwave and wireless chargers at the Optical and Electronic Technologies Research Laboratory there was a significant amount of surprises, questions and fun.

In addition to the many innovations that the experience brought them in the different research areas, the future engineers learned that INESC TEC could one day be the place for themselves to develop multidisciplinary research activities.

The visits took place on 19 September and were part of the Extracurricular Activities Exhibition, promoted by FEUP on the week that celebrates the “Welcoming New Students” of the 2018/19 academic year.
