USIG starts "CEMSDI" European project
The Information and Computer Graphics Unit (USIG) has recently signed a contract for the project CEMSDI - Civil-servants Empowerment for Multi-media Service Delivery ICT-enabled. This is a European project that is part of the ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP), on the “ICT for Government and Governance” topic. CEMSDI addresses the theme “Inclusive e-Governance: flexible, personalized and multichannel based service delivery targeting the socially disadvantaged”, through a Type-B Pilot.
With a two-year duration, this project aims to develop the competences of Public Administration collaborators responsible for the implementation of active e-Inclusion policies in areas where it is necessary to eliminate or reduce this kind of phenomena.
There will be five pilots (Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom) where the intention will be to validate the tools created by the network of experts on e-Government working on CEMSDI, so as to integrate them in a methodology that can be used in other areas and in other European countries. These actions target mainly the Local Public Administration and the instrument to be used is the Local Digital Agenda, an inclusive tool used to implement e-Government solutions, focusing on the Administration and citizens.
INESC Porto promotes, through USIG, the organization of the national pilot that will be carried out in the region of Vale do Ave, as well as the production of training contents. On the other hand, the Unit is responsible for the WP6 – Networking and User Promotion. The team involved in this project is supervised by Rui Barros, researcher at USIG.
CEMSDI involves institutions from six different countries: INNOVA spa, University of Roma La Sapienza, Scuola Superiore della Pubblica Amministrazione Locale, ANCITEL spa and Comunità Montane Media Valle del Chercio (Italy), the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (Norway), Asociaciòn de Municipios del Pais Vasco and Robotiker (Spain), Electronic Service Deliverer Limited (United Kingdom) and Vysocina Region (Czech Republic). The Portuguese institutions are the Digital Region of Vale do Ave (Vale do Ave Região Digital - VARD 2015) and INESC Porto. INNOVA spa is the project manager.
