INESC Porto signs contract with EDP Distribuição

INESC Porto signs contract with EDP Distribuição

In the context of the InovGrid project, a new contract was signed between INESC Porto’s Power Systems Unit (USE) and EDP Distribuição. The aim with this contract is to elaborate specifications for new functionalities that will explore the information provided by the InovGrid infrastructure and support the development of those functionalities.

The work is complemented by the development of advanced solutions associated to the Smart Grids concept, namely concerning the operation of distribution grids with high levels of integration of microgeneration and distributed production. The main tasks include the specification of methodologies for the development of decision-support systems, in the context of grid planning and exploitation, determination of microgeneration patterns   and advanced management of distribution grids – low, medium and high voltage.

João Abel Peças Lopes, Nuno Fidalgo, Carlos Moreira and Luís Seca are the members of INESC Porto participating in this project.
